I am a specialist in Family and Community Medicine, MIR performed in the Teaching Unit of Salamanca from 1981 to 1984. I have practiced as a family physician in health centers in Merida and Salamanca. I have been coordinator of the MFyC Teaching Unit in Salamanca. Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of Salamanca.
Throughout my professional practice I have been a tutor of residents of MFyC (the most rewarding task in my case) and I have had medical students in consultation. I work as a doctor in an NGO in Bolivia.
As a second activity I am a birdwatcher and amateur naturalist. Environmental protection activities.
As a co-educator I have rediscovered the value of relating to people of another generation, it enriches me and I missed it after retirement. It is like crossing into another sensory dimension in the sense that I have some keys to interpret reality learned in my time and my culture. The relationship with the students allows me to acquire new skills, new criteria to interpret reality, I sense it differently. I hope that it will bring something to the students and, from experience, I feel that it does.
